Does anything get uploaded?
No. This tool processes your text in your browser. Closing the page clears the working data. Downloads remain wherever you save them on your device.
Words use your browser’s Unicode word segmentation. Characters are visible grapheme clusters (an emoji or an accented letter usually counts as one). “Without whitespace” excludes spaces, tabs and line breaks. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. Results can differ slightly between browser Unicode versions.
Why does another editor show a different count?
Word boundaries depend on the counting rules and the browser’s Unicode segmentation. Hyphens, emoji and mixed languages can produce different totals in other software. For a strict assignment or application limit, check the destination’s own count. Fixatoo is useful for drafting and comparison, not a guarantee of another system’s result.
