Make an image easier to share

Use Image Compressor when an attachment or website upload has a file-size limit. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image and select JPG or WebP output. Fixatoo re-encodes it at the quality you choose, then shows the resulting file size so you can decide whether it meets your destination's requirements.

Work toward a size limit

If a form asks for a file under 500 KB, start with the default quality and compare the output size. Lower quality gradually if it is still too large. If the image has far more pixels than the form needs, use Image Resizer as well. There is no guaranteed target-size setting: different pictures compress by different amounts.

Should I choose JPG or WebP?

Choose JPG when the receiving website specifically requests JPEG files. Choose WebP when it is accepted and you want to compare a potentially smaller result. JPG turns transparent areas white. WebP can retain transparency. This tool does not produce a losslessly optimized PNG; it creates a new JPG or WebP instead.

Why is the output larger?

An image that is already efficiently compressed can become larger when re-encoded. Fixatoo reports the actual result rather than guaranteeing a reduction. Compare the new file against the original before keeping it. Check fine text, logos and sharp edges especially carefully because lossy compression can introduce visible artefacts.
